Four Day South Coast Bird Photography Course

Four days of bird photography in the beautiful South Coast

4 x 8 hours Class size 1 to 10 guests       $2,650

Join us for a 4-day and 3-night birding workshop while exploring some of Berry and the South Coast's most beautiful locations.
We will cover locations and bird species in coastal, mountainous, and wetland areas, where we have the potential to see and photograph over 200 species of birdlife in their natural habitat.
Bird photography poses different approaches depending on bird species and the seasons, and every time you venture out, weather and nature will influence each experience. This ensures bird photography is always a unique opportunity to observe wildlife at its best, make connections with nature, and capture some amazing imagery.
Workshop dates
  • Location is in the Shoalhaven Area 2.5 hours south of Sydney
  • This workshop commences at 2pm on 31 Oct – check-in from 2pm to get settled.
  • Departure: 3 Nov at 3pm
Accommodation
We stay at Quest Apartments on the southern side of Nowra, offering spacious and well-appointed rooms. This is also where we hold our daytime lectures.
You can book extra nights before or after the course if you want an extended break. The corporate rate will apply to all extra nights.
Accommodation comprises large apartment-style 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom apartments. The 2-bedroom apartments have 2 bathrooms.
Daily program – Can change daily according to weather
  • The program gives you the opportunity to shoot 2 late afternoons and 2 early morning locations. We will also shoot later in the day at a mountain refuge with a guided tour by one of our Birding Australia experts on their private property.
  • This will be incorporated with lectures and image review sessions.
  • There will be time to explore Berry, but we suggest booking an extra night if you’d like a proper wind-down.
  • Enjoy an immersive few days of photography – the aim is to think and feel photography whilst developing your individual approach and ideas.
Note: schedule may change depending on group needs.
Walking and weather
This is a gentle trip requiring a low level of fitness. There will be a small amount of walking to and from shoot locations, sometimes on uneven surfaces with steps and inclines. If you’re unsure of your ability, please contact Sharon directly.
