  • 5/5 from Lindy Clarkson, attended Mar 2024: My class with Hanka was everything I could have asked for, especially as she arranged a small private class for me. Hanka was friendly, kind, and patient and explained everything very thoroughly, making sure I understood each step. Her studio is beautiful with every amenity as well as being light and bright. I learned the basics of amigurumi crochet and appreciated the beginner’s kit that is supplied in the class. Although I didn’t need any further supplies myself, I did see that she has a small range of items for sale if people wanted to add to the starter kit she has included in the lesson. I left feeling confident that I can now read a crochet pattern and do the basic stitches I need to create my own amigurumi animals.

I am looking forward to doing another class to learn different crotchet skills and I will let my friends and family about this class. I will send you a photo of my completed duck soon. Thank you.

  • 4/5 from Julia Bates, attended Jul 2019: Very well set up with nice touches and very welcoming teacher. The presentation was good - I preferred the short video to still pictures to understand. I struggled a bit at the start - and I would have liked another option to make it more comfortable for my hand - perhaps a thought for future classes. Also the item I made was very small and therefore fiddly. However, I went home and successfully made a larger item - so I had learnt enough to progress. That was my objective and was achieved.

Facilitating workshops for a number of years, I learned to crochet from my mum who crocheted, knitted, and sewed most of our family's garments. Since that time, I developed a love for crochet as a craft that enables me to relax and keeps my mind healthy.
I find great satisfaction, especially in completing crochet toys (called Amigurumi), be it from the animal kingdom or dolls. My crochet toys are on display in an art gallery and also available as pieces of handcrafted love for purchase.
Come to discover the beauty of this almost forgotten, yet still alive, relaxing craft with many benefits.
