I’m a hands-on herbalist, gardener and apothecary maker who fell in love with plants after discovering just how much traditional knowledge and practical wisdom is held within the whole plant. What began out of necessity for myself and my family — being unable to use many shop-bought products because of sensitivities — slowly grew into curiosity, then became a passion for growing, harvesting and creating herbal preparations from scratch.
I work closely with traditional whole-plant herbal methods and love making preparations that respect the plant as a whole, rather than isolating individual compounds. I also choose not to use essential oils in my herbal products, focusing instead on gentle, traditional preparations made from whole herbs. This approach is particularly important to me when creating products for people with allergies, sensitivities or anyone looking for simpler, more natural alternatives.
Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours growing herbs, learning about the plants around me and experimenting with different ways of preserving and extracting their properties. I make tinctures, infused oils, salves, creams, herbal honeys and other old-fashioned apothecary preparations by hand. From the garden through to the finished product, I love being involved in every part of the process.
One of the things I’m most passionate about is bringing practical herbal knowledge back into everyday life. Much of this knowledge was once passed down through families — how to recognise plants, harvest them, preserve them and turn them into useful preparations at home. I especially love showing people that some of the plants we dismiss as weeds can actually be incredibly useful allies.
My workshops are relaxed, welcoming and genuinely hands-on. Rather than simply watching a demonstration or listening to a talk, you’ll have the opportunity to smell, taste, explore and work with the plants yourself. I demonstrate traditional preparation techniques, explain why different methods are used, and give you the opportunity to make something you can take home and use.
I love teaching because it’s empowering. There’s nothing better than seeing someone who has never worked with herbs before suddenly realise, “I can actually do this myself.” My goal is to make herbal knowledge approachable and practical, while helping people build confidence, reconnect with nature and discover the beginnings of their own home apothecary.
And perhaps the thing I love most? Helping people look at the plants growing around them a little differently. The next time you see an “annoying weed” growing in your garden, you might just stop and wonder what it has to offer.
