What you'll do

Looking for a unique and creative experience? My private pottery workshops are perfect for team events, birthdays, hens’ parties, or just a fun get-together. Each workshop runs for two hours, and all materials, glazing, and firings are included. Your finished pieces will be ready for pickup four to five weeks after the workshop.

Workshop Options

Mug Making - $125 per person

1.3kg of clay to create two handmade mugs using simple hand-building techniques. Ill attach your handles 24hrs after the workshop

Platters / Trinket Tray Making - $110 per person

Work with 1kg of clay to create as many small or large platters as you like.

Clay Play - $110 per person

Let your creativity run wild! Use 1kg of clay to sculpt and design whatever you like.

Cheese N Dip Platter - $110 per person

1.2kg of clay to create a platter with a matching dip bowl

Travel Mug - $80 per person

500g of clay to make one keep mug for your travels. I will attach a handle 24hrs after the workshop

Flower Vase - $110 per person

1kg of clay to make your own unique vase

Travel Expenses

A travel fee of $70 applies for off-site venues that are an hour from my location.

Attendees

Bookings must be for a minimum of 10 guests. A maximum of 80 is possible for workplace functions or corporate events. Discounts apply for groups larger than 20 guests.

Workshop Details

I provide all clay, tools, aprons, and tablecloths. If hosting, you'll need to provide enough space for all attendees, plus tables and chairs. I can travel within one hour of Abermain; additional costs apply for further distances. Alternatively, you can select one of the below public locations.

Booking & Payment

A non-refundable deposit secures your booking. The remaining balance is due two weeks before the workshop. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions.

Hi, my name is Melanie, the artist and designer behind Hidden Button Workshops

My passion for art started at a young age in primary school. Being dyslexic I found other subjects at school challenging but studying visual arts seemed to be the only way I could express myself and find out what I was passionate about.

After completing year 12 I was accepted into the National Art School in Sydney, to study a Bachelor of Fine Arts. This led me to major in ceramics for the next four years, extending my studies with an Honours degree, graduating with a high distinction.

In 2013 I moved back to the Central Coast where I grew up, to start a family but also to start my future in ceramics. Since then I've been working hard, not only as a full-time mum raising two beautiful girls but also working towards my small business in macramé and ceramics.
