Clay Club!
An initiative for potters/ceramicists to evolve their own ceramics practise, utilising the infrastructure of The Kiln Room.
Clay Club is for anyone who has completed one 8-week term of pottery classes or has the equivalent knowledge and skills base - and would benefit from untutored clay play and skills practise.
Clay club is centred around the idea of being amongst the energy of other creatives and is therefore scheduled in 4 x hour sessions with a start and finish time. You sign up for 4 x sessions at once because this is a reasonable timeframe to move through a body of work.
In the 4-week framework, you can expect:
  • Timelines for making in preparation for alternative firing opportunities
  • Skill-building challenges
  • Creative prompts if required
Clay Club gives you access to The Kiln Room class area in the designated time slot, as well as any Jumpingcreek equipment which will be highlighted in the first session. You will also get shelf space, and unlimited tea and coffee.
You will have access to the firing service *this is an additional cost as per The Kiln Room pricing. Materials and equipment will be available to purchase from the studio or you can bring your own.
