What you'll do
Offering DJ lessons in Melbourne from absolute beginners to intermediate DJs who want to learn how to use club-ready gear. Experienced with all types of house, techno, disco but open to all genres of music. Can supply tracks for you or you are welcome to bring your own.
Beginners:
We'll start off with a DDJ-400 Controller, Audio-Technica headphones and the rekordbox software, where you will learn the basics of how tracks are played and mixed together.
More advanced:
Practice on Club-ready gear (2x CDJ-900s, DJM800 Mixer and Audio-Technica headphones). Then you'll get to learn how to correctly prepare your tracks on rekordbox software, format a USB for CDJs, EQ mix for transitions, beat-match by ear, use effects and build a set flow.
All DJ lessons will be hosted at our studio based in Northcote, Melbourne. Come along and get ready to learn how to DJ!

No prerequisite knowledge or skills required, we can tailor the classes from beginner-friendly to more advanced.
What you'll get
- An hour of one-on-one DJ tuition where we can go through the concepts/theory of music mixing, hardware functions, components of a track and basic transition techniques together.
- Once you have a grasp of the basics, we can move onto more advanced skills like beat-matching and EQ-mixing.

I am Steve, I have been DJing and mixing music for over 10 years now. Based in the inner-north of Melbourne.
What started as a hobby in 2014 quickly became a passion! Since then I have recorded and published mixes, played at indoor and outdoor events, and taught DJ mixing lessons - from the beginner all the way up to advanced.
I have experience playing all types of house, techno and disco - but am open to all genres of music. My passion for sound and technology directly translates to a well-paced and precisely articulated direction when teaching the nuances of mixing music.
I enjoy teaching others and am here to help deepen your knowledge and understanding of DJing - and have fun in the process.
