What you'll do
Learn how to make natural soap from scratch at this soap making workshop in Hamilton. Don't worry if you're a beginner, we'll guide you through the process step by step. By the end of the class, you'll have the skills to create your own nourishing, moisturising soaps using all-natural plant-based ingredients and pure essential oils. Say goodbye to mass-produced "soap" with its artificial ingredients and drying detergents!
Similar to cooking, soap making uses ingredients and equipment you might already have in your kitchen. However, since the authentic process of soap making involves the use of lye or caustic soda, we'll make sure to take extra care throughout the workshop.
During the soap making class, you'll be taught the essentials of cold process soap using natural olive oils and pure essential oils. Then, it's time to get your hands dirty and make your own batch of soap. We'll even give you instructions on how to cut and cure the soap at home, so you can continue your soap making journey.
No prior knowledge is required for this workshop. We'll create a supportive and inclusive environment where you can learn and ask questions throughout the class. Don't be daunted by the process—we're here to guide you every step of the way.

What to bring
- Bring a soap mould or you can borrow ours and come back and collect perfectly cut soaps after 36 hours, or add on to purchase one to keep for $25.
- Wear a long-sleeved shirt and closed shoes.
- Bring a bag such as a grocery enviro bag and an old towel to carry your soap home.
- Please bring disposable gloves. You may bring your own safety goggles if you like.
- Optional: Feel free to bring your own oils or moulds that you would like to use in class.
