Cyanotype Printing Workshop

A workshop exploring cyanotype art, an indigo mono-printing process

2.5 hours Class size 6 to 30 guests

$90 - $100 ($100 per guest when you book for 6+ guests, $90/guest for 8+ guests) (PayPal Pay in 4 available)

In this workshop, you’ll be introduced to the world of cyanotype printing—a magical and rewarding art process that uses a light-sensitive solution and sunlight. This simple yet beautiful technique invites you to experiment with the placement of botanicals to create striking white silhouette prints on an indigo background.
All materials are provided, including a selection of wild plants and flowers. However, you’re encouraged to bring your own foraged plants, herbs, or flowers (freshly cut, pressed, or dried) to create your unique designs. Varieties with slender stems, delicate leaves, and light-coloured petals work best, as they allow the light to pass through (for example: baby’s breath, lavender, dill, hibiscus, dandelions, ferns, and white pansies).
At the end of the session, you’ll proudly take home your own botanical artworks to frame and display—a beautiful reminder of your experience, along with a sense of personal fulfilment and creative achievement.

Hi, I’m Susie—a local artist and founder of Artisan Tribe Studio in The Tweed. I’ve opened my studio as a welcoming space where everyone, from curious beginners to seasoned makers, can come together to experience the joy of making by hand.
Because I love exploring different materials and techniques, you’ll always find something new to try, with unique workshops introduced every season. Our current offerings include clay hand-building, painting, printing, mixed media, textiles, and jewellery making.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to build on your skills, our workshops focus on process over perfection, nurturing curiosity, self-expression, and a sense of well-being through creativity.
Workshops are curated to blend modern design with traditional methods, and each activity is designed so you’ll leave with a handmade piece that feels personal and fits beautifully into your space.
If you’re curious to try something new, reconnect with your creative side, or simply enjoy some mindful time with clay, paint, or print, I’d love to welcome you to the studio.
