What you'll do
If you love stunning, original jewellery, then you'll love this 2 hour workshop and be thrilled with the discovery of a whole new art form!
Choose from a wide variety of coloured glass bases, and build four jewellery pieces using dichroic glass. Your teacher will fuse it gently in the kiln after you leave in order to create a stunning three-dimensional finish. You can't go wrong!
The workshop is perfectly for beginners! You'll be guided every step of the way through this fascinating class.
During the workshop you will learn
- The basic, correct skills needed to use glass as an artistic medium
- The fundamentals of glass cutting
- What happens to glass in the kiln at different temperatures and be introduced to the endless potential of glass fusing and slumping
- How to design your own mini art glass masterpieces
- How some colours change at different kiln temperatures
- The basic difference between cold glass, warm glass and hot glass
Once the class is over and the clean up is done, all you need to do is wait for an email from Jenie showing the progress of your jewellery items.

Knowledge required
No knowledge is required. This is a level one workshop for beginners.
What you'll get
All materials used including:- The dichroic glass
- Use of Studio tools
- Kiln firing of jewellery
- Findings to finish off components
You can collect them from Jenie's Richmond studio 14 days after the workshop.
What to bring
You don't need to bring anything, everything you need is included in the cost of this workshop. Please just wear clothes that include some kind of sleeve (not a tank top) and closed-toe shoes (no thongs). You need to be able to stand securely on both feet for maximum success. And bring your sense of fun, because fun it is!If you want to BYO drinks and nibbles please feel free to do so.

Jenie Yolland's glass studio is a safe and creative place where you can learn about glass art. You don't need any expertise. Our classes are designed for the absolute beginner. You'll love being here. Its relaxing and fun being in this amazing space.
You can create all sorts of things in my studio, from bespoke handmade glass plates, to giant Mondrian wall clocks, or abstract wall art!
We run workshops for all ages. Come with your family and friends and create memories together.
