Drawing Foundations Course: Beginners to Intermediate

Do you want to learn to draw but don’t know where to start? Or looking to brush up on your skills? Join this fun drawing course with Corner Studio and learn all about this versatile art medium.

Drawing is the basic foundation upon which all art is created. Whether you have an interest in pursuing other mediums, from painting, to sculpture or digital art or even different styles such as expressionism, pop art or abstract art----drawing is where it all begins.

The foundations of drawing are skills that can be taught and learnt and, with practice, they provide the building blocks of a rewarding art practice.

You will be taken through a two hour workshop over a course of 6 weeks, where you will be taught the basics focusing on some key foundational practices such as observation drawing, composition, perspective, proportion, mark-making and texture, shading and highlighting, exploring drawing media and creative expression.

The class also includes the opportunity to get tailored feedback and advice based on where you are at in your drawing journey, where you can learn about a range of techniques and styles and be inspired by different artists.

By the end of this class, you will be amazed at how far you progress over the course of this unit and will gain the confidence you need to keep practising and improving your drawing skills and most importantly---develop a love for drawing.

Beginners are welcome - no skills required. Intermediates are also welcome.

All basic materials are provided with the option of bringing your own favourite drawing tools, if you wish.
 

This class series runs over 6 consecutive sessions, at the same time every week.
