Embroidery Workshop: Thread Drawing Evenings

Enjoy a gentle evening of creativity, learning the skill of thread drawing.

2 hours Class size 3 to 10 guests

$55 (Afterpay available)
Spend an evening in Juliet's studio workshop discovering how to use your basic home sewing machine to create your very own thread drawings.
Juliet will carefully guide you through every step of this fun and creative technique through demonstrations, tuition, and practical support. No experience necessary. Complete beginners are very welcome, as are more experienced artists and sewers. The small class size ensures that Juliet can support your learning at any stage of your thread drawing journey.
For those who need it, we will cover the basics of free-motion embroidery, including how to prepare your machine to free sew, how to transfer your designs to fabric, and how to draw with the machine. Techniques for adding layers of details to your designs with threads and fabrics will be presented. Once the basics have been covered, you will be guided and supported to work on a project of your choice. Select a project to work on from provided images and resources, or bring your own ideas if you prefer.
There will be plenty of opportunity for practise, troubleshooting, skill building, and experimentation!
All equipment and materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own sewing machine with a darning/embroidery foot.
