Hi, I’m Em, the florist behind Flowers by Emily Jane in Cessnock, in the heart of the Hunter Valley.My business started as a Valentine’s Day pop-up. I loved the buzz of it, and people responded so warmly that it grew into a permanent shopfront at 1J Cooper Street. I trained in floristry with a Certificate III at Kurri TAFE, and over the past three years I’ve created flowers for more than 25 weddings and events, as well as everyday moments like birthdays, apologies and farewells. Helping someone say what they can’t quite put into words is the best part of my job.I’m newer to teaching, with two workshops and ten students so far, and I’m hooked. I love sharing how fulfilling it is to make something with your hands. My workshops are relaxed and hands-on, and you’ll leave with a beautiful handmade creation and the confidence to try it again at home.I’m a local through and through, and I love stocking the shop with work from Hunter Valley makers. I can’t wait to meet you and make something beautiful together.
