Where is your flower picking farm located?
Our family-run flower farm is located in Silvan, in Melbourne's beautiful Yarra Valley, Victoria. Set on a hilltop with lovely countryside views, our farm is where we grow, nurture and harvest our seasonal flowers.
Full directions and parking information will be sent to you before your visit.
How far is the flower farm from Melbourne?
Flower availability changes throughout the year. Depending on the season, you may find dahlias, sweet peas, roses, zinnias, cosmos, strawflowers, native flowers and other seasonal varieties.
Please check our “What's Flowering This Week?” page before your visit to see what's currently flowering and ready to harvest.
As we're a real working flower farm, we can't guarantee specific varieties or colours on the day.
When is the best time to visit for flower picking?
Our main flower picking season generally runs from summer into autumn, with availability depending on the varieties we're growing and the weather.
Every season is different, and some flowers only bloom for a short time. Check our website for current picking dates and what's flowering before booking.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, we recommend booking online in advance. Picking sessions are subject to availability, and numbers may be limited to protect the fields and give everyone room to enjoy the experience.
What happens when I arrive?
We'll welcome you to the farm and explain how the picking experience works. You'll learn how to select flowers, where to cut your stems and how to harvest carefully.
Then it's time to wander through the fields, discover what's blooming and fill your bucket with seasonal flowers.
Is the farm wheelchair accessible?
Our flower fields are working growing areas with uneven grass, garden beds and unpaved surfaces. The picking experience is not generally wheelchair or walker accessible, and visitors need to be comfortable walking and standing on uneven ground.
Please contact us before booking if you'd like to discuss your access requirements.
What should I wear and bring?
We recommend bringing:
Closed-toe shoes suitable for walking on a farm
A hat and sunscreen
A water bottle
Comfortable clothing suitable for the weather
Your camera for capturing the day
Our experiences take place outdoors, so please come prepared for the conditions.
What happens if it rains or the weather is too hot?
What happens if it rains or the weather is too hot?
Flower picking takes place outdoors, and weather can affect both flower availability and visitor safety.
If conditions mean we need to postpone or change a session, we'll contact affected guests with further information. Please keep an eye on your messages before travelling to the farm.
Can I choose exactly which flowers go into my bucket?
You'll be able to choose from the flowers that are ready and available to pick during your session. Some varieties may be plentiful, while others may be limited.
Part of the fun is discovering what's flowering and creating your own seasonal collection.
How do I look after my flowers when I get home?
For the best vase life, place your flowers in clean water as soon as possible, use a clean vase and trim the stems before arranging them. Keep them away from direct heat and refresh the water regularly.
We'll share simple flower care tips to help you enjoy your freshly picked blooms for as long as possible.
