Glass Light Catcher Workshop

Make a glass light catcher using copper foil

5 hours Class size 1 to 10

label $150 - $165 (or 4 payments of $38 - $41 Afterpay)
($165 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $150 for 2+ guests)

Learn the process of creating a two-dimensional copper foil (often known as Tiffany style) glass light catcher!

You will create your own light catcher from start to finish using one of our designs as a guide. After learning about the different types of window glass; transparent, opaque, textured or clear, not to mention a huge range of colours! You will learn to transfer your pattern onto the glass, before cutting it out and refining the shapes using our glass tools including the grinder. You will also be able to add an additional dimension to your piece by using bevels that will ensure that your light catcher will spread a rainbow around any room if you desire.

Once you have laid out your design we will teach you to apply copper foil to each of your glass pieces before the real fun begins! You will then be guided to tack solder your piece together and then cover your piece in a solder coating before learning how to finish your piece with patinas if you wish!

A delicious lunch will be provided created from all local organic produce and able to cater for any dietary requirements you may have. We also provide you with a divine afternoon treat and tea and coffee facilities are available throughout the course.

The workshop costs include all materials required and all tools will be provided in the studio for use by participants.

Excellent course with a teacher that was very welcoming and helpful.
It was a very well paced day.
The catered lunch and coffee provided was fabulous.
I am seriously thinking of doing it again.
The only part that could be a little better is once ready to solder there was only one teacher to the whole class which just meant that we needed to wait around a bit - but that really wasn't a big deal.

The class was a great experience. The teacher was terrific - very knowledgeable and very good at giving the feedback you needed when you needed it. Lots of lovely glass and good equipment to work with. And great coffee and lunch!
Very highly recommended from me

Great ladies day out for us. They accommodated our large groups last minute needs to work together without a fuss. The teacher always made herself available for 1:1 time, was adaptive to our individual unique needs, and conducted herself in a very professional manner. We had an amazing lunch that catered for everyones dietary requirements. Thank you! We left with a wonderful piece of individual artwork, very satisfied bellies and lifted spirits from the delightful time we experienced.

All great. Great contribution to community and art development in Victoria.

Only thing I would say is I rang to get more info about the workshop and I was told it was a two day workshop only to find out on the day it was one day and I had booked accommodation I didn’t have to.
