  • 5/5 from Patrick Dowling, attended Jul 2026: I cannot recommend this class highly enough, it was perfect in every way. Our chefs were perfect, guiding us through the process with effortless ease and humility, our host Anna is just a dream to work with and ensured my guests had a brilliant experience. Worth every cent per head and more.
  • 5/5 from Robert Wallhead, attended Jul 2026: I received this as birthday gift, and it was awesome! It was calmly paced, education and fun. Definitely recommend :)
  • 5/5 from Mia Mats, attended Jul 2026: Great class, great teachers and a fantastic energy. They were organised and did learn new skills that I will use. Thank you
  • 4/5 from Judy Dunn, attended Jul 2026: My friend Jenny and I enjoyed the class. It was good o do something different together. The venue was good and the leaders were great, but perhaps not having as many in the class would mean it wouldn’t be as squishy. It was difficult to see the demonstration clearly. The class ended without a conclusion.
  • 4/5 from Steve Cavill, attended Jul 2026: A very enjoyable class. Instructor was very good. Had fun learning a new skill. Though we only MADE the gnocchi, did not cook it. Great take away goodie bag to make again at home. A couple of criticisms. Class started half an hour late, no explanation for that as it finished on time, maybe should be advertised as 1.5 hours class not 2. Because of the number of attendees there were two large tables for the students and could not see the demonstration from the second table
  • 4/5 from Leonie, attended Jul 2026: On the whole we did enjoy it. Great to know how to make gnocchi! We enjoyed the lunch and glass of wine for lunch that was included. The teacher was good. However not sure it was worth the $130 we paid. It was meant to start at 11am but it didn't start until 11.30am which was disappointing. Felt there were too many people in the class as it was difficult to see what the teacher was doing. They had 2 rectangle tables but only one teacher at the end of one of the tables. We were on the other table and found it very difficult to see what was being demonstrated.
  • 5/5 from Danny Shafar, attended Jun 2026: My kids bought me a gift voucher. We also attended the pizza making class and enjoyed both classes. Thank you
  • 5/5 from Esther Scheurmann, attended May 2026: We both really enjoyed the gnocchi masterclass, coffee and lunch. All the steps and ingredients were carefully explained, questions encouraged and thoughtfully answered. The practical part of the class was fun and the instructors assisted when requested. We made a new batch of gnocchi at home the next day with the contents of the complimentary goodie bag. We happily recommend this class
  • 5/5 from Afra Chilmeran, attended Apr 2026: We had an incredible time at our Team Gnocchi Masterclass yesterday! Huge thank you to Ana and Juan who took great care of us and made it a super enjoyable experience for everyone. Highly recommend this class for anyone who's considering it.
  • 5/5 from Connie Koronakos, attended Mar 2026: This was an incredible experience - it felt so wholesome. The ability to learn a skill and also enjoy lunch with others. A perfect date day! You also walk away with a goodie bag. It was just so good - highly recommend. Thanks to the team at 48H!
  • 5/5 from Inna Sharma, attended Mar 2026: Such a fun event and from now on gnocchi will be my go to dish for my family
  • 3/5 from Adrian Woods, attended Mar 2026: I thought it was a bit strange we didn’t cook the meal or watch it being cooked. I guess not everyone can cook as it would take ages, but I did think we would watch the chef do it. We were shown how to make the dow and that was it. It was a nice experience but that’s about it
  • 3/5 from James Orourke, attended Mar 2026: As an experience is was just ok, not great. The class was small in size, which was nice, but we were all squashed together on one table in a closed and empty restaurant. The teacher was informative but spent a large amount of time talking about the flour. The lesson was this: peel potato, mash potato (by hand) to make dough, roll dough, cut dough, put in box to take home. No cooking was involved of either the gnocci or the sauce. Then you sit down, again squashed into one table and are given food which was pre made and one glass of nameless wine. Class was said to be two hours but we were back in the car within 1.5 hours. At $260 for two people, we did not see any value over $60 total for the experience.
  • 5/5 from Christina Richardson, attended Feb 2026: Yummy Gnocchi! Good wine! Pleasant experience.
  • 5/5 from Elliot Leijon, attended Feb 2026: Great teachers, good atmosphere and good food, highly recommend!
  • 5/5 from Sue Battista, attended Feb 2026: My friend and I both loved the Masterclass - it was a great length, super helpful, and fun, and the lunch at the end was delicious. I also thought it was great how at the end they send you home with all the ingredients and sauce to make it again! I would definitely recommend it as a fun activity to do with a friend, as a date, or even to give as a gift for someone who loves to cook!
  • 5/5 from Sosha Jay, attended Jan 2026: Our teacher was so nice and friendly. We loved our class so much and had the best time.
  • 5/5 from Elton Rodrigues, attended Dec 2025: The class was an absolute delight! Our teacher was fantastic – knowledgeable, patient, and made the experience fun and engaging. They explained each step clearly and shared great tips on how to perfect the texture of the gnocchi. We started by learning how to prepare the dough from scratch, then rolled and shaped the gnocchi before cooking it to perfection. After the hands-on session, we enjoyed a delicious lunch featuring the gnocchi we made, paired with a beautiful sauce and fresh ingredients. What I liked most was the interactive nature of the class – getting my hands into the dough and seeing the transformation from simple ingredients to a restaurant-quality dish. The relaxed atmosphere and the chance to learn authentic techniques made it truly memorable.
  • 5/5 from Jayne Watson, attended Dec 2025: Was a relaxed and fun class. Highly recommend

His feedback was very helpful. Lunch was beautiful and if our own meals turn out as well we’ll be well pleased. Lunch and wine was fabulous as was the goodie bag to take home. Thank you for a great day out.

We were welcomed with coffee and tea, then got hands on making gnocchi with plenty of help if needed, the staff were so lovely! Afterwards, we were given gift bags with all the ingredients to make it at home which included the gnocchi we made, then sat down to enjoy a delicious gnocchi lunch with a glass of wine from the chef! Such a fun and thoughtful experience!
  • 5/5 from Sarah Clacherty, attended Jul 2025: It was awesome. We were confused when it started with a hot drink with us sitting and waiting for what really only was 30mins. But once we started we realised that making gnocchi is so quick… mostly because the potatoes were already cooked and cooked for us. The teacher was informative and so nice, as were everyone who was there to help us. We had a lovely group of students as well, making the class more fun and working together. The gnocchi we ate was soooo good. I’d recommend 48h for dinner as well as a class. We came away with our uncooked gnocchi as well as everything to make gnocchi at home.

48H Pizza e Gnocchi Bar

4.8 (583)

48H Pizza & Gnocchi Bar opened their first restaurant in South Yarra in 2015 and quickly became a local favourite. Owners Fabio Biscaldi and Michele Circhirillo have been serving seasonal and artisanal small plates, handmade gnocchi and pizzas inspired by dishes that they grew up with.
For us, 48 hours is the minimum time required for the dough to rise. A dough that has been leavened for 48H with natural yeast will make your pizza light, fragrant and aromatic… just like in Italy. Natural yeast has been used for generations in Italy. In fact, back in the day, only one person in the village would have natural yeast and they would use it to barter goods with. Bread was made once a week, and in some villages, just once a month, so natural yeast had to be bartered or families would go without their bread…. a sacrilegious thought to any food-respecting Italian!
At 48H, we want to respect and maintain these traditions and introduce you to true Italian flavours, remastered for today’s refined palates.
Buon Appetito!
