What you'll do
Immerse yourself in the ancient art of hand carving and join designer and maker Alma for a four hour bowl carving workshop in Melbourne. Learn the techniques to create a wooden bowl from scratch.
Under the guidance of your experienced teacher, you will start with a raw piece of timber and learn the step-by-step process of transforming it into a functional and beautiful hand-carved bowl.
From selecting the right timber to understanding grain patterns and using traditional hand tools, you will gain the knowledge and skills needed to create your own unique masterpiece.
Throughout the class, you will receive personalised instruction and guidance, helping you feel confident and comfortable with each carving technique. You will also learn essential safety practices, allowing you to work with hand tools effectively and securely.
By the end of the class, you will have completed a hand-carved bowl to show off to your friends and family!
