  • 5/5 from Janaya Vincent, attended Jun 2026: I really enjoyed this class! Emma was a great teacher, providing plenty of instruction, help and patience. I feel much more confident about embroidery stitches and how to apply them now. A really good class for beginners or for those getting back into embroidery. I'll be back for more!
  • 5/5 from Paul Vlassopoulos, attended Jun 2026: Very enjoyable hand embroidery workshop. The host, Emma, was very warm, and welcoming, and the atmosphere was inviting. We were introduced to the basics of embroidery, and we learnt three basic stitches. There was time to practice, and Emma was always at hand to give one-to-one demonstration of the stitches, and to provide any tips, advice, and problem solving. The group was friendly, and jovial. All materials were provided, and we were supplied with materials to finish our piece at home. I very much enjoyed my introduction to embroidery, and I was provided the basic instruction to be able to continue my embroidery journey on my own. The class is highly recommend!
  • 5/5 from Joanne Daniher, attended Jun 2026: Lovely Sunday afternoon embroidery class, very enjoyable and learnt some great tips. Our teacher was very experienced and helpful, feel confident now to start some embroidery projects.

Hi, I’m Emma, the hands (and heart) behind Yarn Industries, a hand embroidery studio based in Naarm/Melbourne. From my tiny 2m² studio, I create detailed, hand-stitched works inspired by Australia’s incredible native flora and Melbourne’s beautiful architecture. My work ranges from one-of-a-kind embroidered art hoops and accessories to beginner-friendly embroidery kits designed to make this timeless craft accessible to everyone.
My love for embroidery began with through my mum and nanna. They inspired the stitching life in me and first showed me how to thread a needle and bring fabric to life with colour and texture. That early connection sparked a lifelong passion for slow, mindful making and for keeping this traditional art form alive in the modern world.
Over the years, I’ve built Yarn Industries into a creative space where I can share that passion with others through workshops and embroidery kits. I love teaching because it allows people to reconnect with their creativity, learn something new, and find calm in the rhythmic process of stitching. There’s something really special about watching people slow down, switch off from daily noise, and feel proud of creating something entirely by hand.
My workshops are designed to be warm, relaxed, and inspiring. A place for craft lovers and budding stitchers to come together, learn, create, and share. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or rediscovering embroidery after years away, you’ll leave feeling confident, inspired, and eager to keep stitching.
Embroidery is a gentle reminder to take things one stitch at a time. A therapeutic, mindful activity that rewards patience and creativity in equal measure. I can’t wait to share that joy with you.
