In our unique workshop, you will dive into the art of hat burning, creating your very own masterpiece to take home. Learn the mesmerising technique of hat burning and unleash your creativity as you design a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects your style and personality.
Feeling nervous about trying something new? Fear not! Our friendly instructors will guide you through each step, ensuring you feel confident and inspired throughout the activity. You will work with a variety of materials, learning how to manipulate them to achieve your desired results.
As you engage in this transformative experience, you may feel a sense of liberation and empowerment. By the end of the workshop, you'll walk away with a beautifully crafted burned hat that you can proudly showcase.
Join us for a day of creativity, fun and self-expression in this exciting hat burning workshop.
We provide burn-proof gloves to avoid any burn accidents; however, you are required to sign a waiver for this class type.
We do an introduction and demonstration at the start. Then it is a very laid back Art cafe type of experience where you have plenty of time to work on your creations.
We have a large variety of stencils available to assist with your designs

When participating in a class or event where the students or participants will be around or using hot and potentially dangerous equipment used in a class environment, the student releases, indemnifies and excludes Wesley Taylor Art Studios, and their employees from any and/or liability of any kind for any damage or injury is incurred while attending or visiting a class of Wesley Taylor Art Studios.
Included in the price is 1 x Fedora hat either choice of large range of colours and styles.
The studio is also byo drinks and snacks of your liking.

Let us know if you're coming to celebrate a birthday, with the tick box on checkout. We have Complimentary Birthday Gift bags for you then. Does not matter if you're on your own or with plus others. Every Birthday outing gets a special magical gift.
For larger groups of 7 plus we also have the Birthday cake at no cost, or for smaller groups under 7 people this is $50 which includes plates, napkins etc
The studio is still byo drinks and food. We have platters available for advance ordering if that makes it easier. We only provide plates and napkins for our platters, otherwise it is also byo plates, cutlery, and glassware. We have paper cups available in every session.
Also just a heads up, due to the Uptown Shopping Centre Renovation, we are still waiting on advice when we will have to move out of the shopping centre. At this stage we will be relocating to the Belise Bar at Bowen Hills. Once we have confirmation on the move, we will contact you if your session date is affected by the move. We will be running all sessions Friday to Sunday every week, so no impact to classes running, just on location.

The sunflower design is great and showcased well- a few alternative designs in person could help others who need a more guided approach or to visually “see” the finished product in person.

The location required paid parking on top of the class fee, which was disappointing. The instructor provided very little guidance — we received a brief three-minute introduction and were then told to “look on Pinterest for inspiration.” There was no practice material provided, and we were advised to practise directly on the hat “where no one would see it.” After that, we barely saw the instructor again as he was busy running two other classes in the same studio. The quality of the hats was poor with very limited sizing available. Hats were also offered for purchase at $65, yet still had an $8 Kmart tag attached, which felt inappropriate given the price. Overall, the class has potential but definitely needs significant improvement in organisation, instruction, and materials.

The teacher's clear instructions and relaxed manner gave us confidence and put us at ease from the start. What we liked the most was learning a method that was totally new to us, and walking away with our beautiful new hats. Buying the gift card online was quick and straightforward. The BYO aspect was great, and the fact that there were so many classes at the same time for different activities gave a great vibe. I recommend having some ideas for hat burning, and printing some stencils before you go, because you have to freehand.

I'm a Brisbane-based artist, and I've been painting and drawing since my early childhood days. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.
I'm very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surrealism, animals, and people. North Queensland is a particular favorite, and you'll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.
I specialize in pastel on card and acrylic on canvas, though I'm also experimenting with abstract and airbrush.
I've been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.
I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for ClassBento Patrons. I believe in bringing these experiences to the customer at the very best competitive price possible, the real Australian Way. The Wesley Taylor Art Studios Mission initially set out to create workshops at half the cost of other workshops for customers to be able to enjoy the experience of creating a piece of artwork. This endeavor was to create the foundation of employing artists with a like-minded sense of assisting customers to enjoy this time out while creating new art experiences. The goals of value for money for customers and employment for artists to run these fun activities that may mark a milestone, a birthday, a hen's party, a social activity, a first date, or company team-building events to build and strengthen relationships with a common bond of creating something new.
