Come and explore the beautiful world and techniques of Chikankari. This embroidery is also known as shadow work as it’s mainly done on the reverse side of the fabric!

It originates from northern India and is still practised mainly in the same region. This embroidery is a favourite of many Indian designers and is now used in chiffon and georgette.

In this class, we will explore various stitches and techniques and after a bit of practice, you will learn to use different stitches in different motifs and shapes.

You will then create a sample on cotton fabric using the Chikankari technique. This beautiful embroidery sample can either be used as a patch on another garment, framed and displayed on your wall, or you can use this as a start of a new creative project!
