Brief Explanation
You will get a brief explanation on the history of Indonesian batik and its step-by-step procedure of batik making.
Draw the Design
You will draw your design on a cotton cloth using pencil.
Apply the Wax with Canting
You will apply the wax on the drawing using canting.
Color the Batik
You will color the batik before finishing.
- Have a brief explanation of the history of Indonesian traditional batik and its step-by-step procedure of traditional batik making.
- Draw your design on a 45x45 cm cotton cloth using a pencil.
- Apply the wax on the design with 'canting'—a traditional tool for drawing batik.
- Colour the design with Remazol dye using a watercolour brush.
- Complete the procedure by removing the wax in a boiling pan, then wash it.
