What you'll do
In this workshop, you'll dive into the world of oil colours, suitable for both complete beginners wanting to explore this medium and seasoned painters seeking to maximise a limited palette. You'll grasp essential colour theory concepts and various colour mixing techniques, using natural pigments and oil mediums as well as traditional artist-quality oil paints. A highlight will be hand mixing your own colours with pigment and medium.
Don't worry if you're a newbie; this class is designed for all levels, offering a professional space in which to learn and experiment. You'll uncover the magic of colour theory at your own pace, from the basics to more advanced concepts.
Throughout the workshop, you'll be immersed in a hands-on experience, getting familiar with the materials and techniques involved in oil painting. Expect to feel inspired and encouraged as you explore the vibrant world of oil colours and unleash your creativity.
By the end of the session, you'll not only gain valuable knowledge and skills in colour theory but also have a series of small and informed oil painting studies and colour charts to take home.
