The Gemmological Association of Australia is a not for profit association that teaches people from all walks of life the skills to handle gemstones.Established in 1945, we are the only organisation in Australia that teaches gemstone identification. Our graduates are employed throughout the jewellery industry, and are trained to identify not only the species of gemstone, but also to conclusively separate natural from synthetic gemstones and to recognise when there are treatments applied to the gemstones.Our teachers are passionate about gemstones and generously share their knowledge for the next generation.You don't need to be a jeweller to learn about gemstones, you just need a fascination with these unique treasures and want to learn more about them.You will learn about rare gemstones, and how to handle them like a pro.
