Authentic Japanese cuisine is precision and perfection! Are you wanting divine culinary inspiration and fresh, delicious Japanese dishes? This Brisbane cooking class is a must if you want to confidently cook Japanese meals.

Our Japanese chef Yoshi will take you through your paces to help you create three to five dishes on the day. Learn valuable skills to make you unstoppable in your kitchen!

You will not have to prepare an entire meal from scratch on your own, we don't believe you should be peeling vegetables and doing all the hard work but rather be concentrating on gaining new skills. We will not have individual workstations but will work in smaller groups on tasks assigned.

At the end of the cooking lesson, we'll have a Japanese feast and enjoy what we've made. We look forward to having you for your Japanese culinary adventure!

  •  Chicken or Vegetable Karaage
  •  Aburi Salmon!

Please note: The menu is based on available seasonal produce and is subject to change at the experience provider's discretion. You will not have your own workstation but will work in small groups with some of the lesson being demonstrated, and some of the lesson being hands-on. Please advise us of any dietary requirements in advance! The class is held in a fully licensed venue so you are unable to BYO. 

Note: Groups of four or more guests will get their own private table.

Suitable for

This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a team building activity, Christmas party, birthday, hens party or bucks party.

This is a fun indoor activity, suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 12 years old). An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.

This would also be a unique gift for her, gift for mum, anniversary gift or Xmas gift.

My partner and I had a great afternoon learning how to make Udon noodles in dashi stock, gyoza, and nigiri. The teacher was friendly and easy to understand and would come and help when you asked. The recipe instructions that each table had were also easy to understand. All of the menial vegetable prep and dishwashing was done by the staff so we got to focus our time learning the more complicated steps. I'm keen to go back again and do the Thai classes as our teacher was a Thai chef.

Great venue and easily accessible by bus. All equipment readily available and of good standard. Clear instructions and easy to see demonstrations even following COVID19 requirements. Food delicious and recipes clear and all ingredients talked about and in some cases explanations on why particular ingredients could not be replaced by others. Eg types of flour. Lot of fun.

I loved the experience of learning to cook Japanese. It was fun. It was a bit disorganised at times and I felt rushed at times as well. The chef was funny and endearing and clearly knew what he was on about. It would have been helpful to have been shown where all the implements were at the beginning of class, what to do with dirty dishes etc. Also it was sometimes hard to heard the chef because one of the workers was using stick blender at stove while he was instructing us, so I missed somethings he was saying.

What a fantastic afternoon with Tong learning how to cook many Japanese dishes. I deeply appreciated the tidbits and pieces of advice Tong offered in addition to the regular instructions. I never knew authentic udon noodle was made using feet! Tong was an enthused, generous, kind and informative instructor with a great sense of humour.
