Hi, I’m Jo—a poet, journaling guide, and lifelong lover of words. My journey with poetry began in childhood, but it wasn’t until I lost my mother as a young adult that writing became a lifeline. In the quiet moments of grief, I turned to the page. That act of writing not only helped me heal—it changed the way I understood myself and others. Since then, I’ve been passionate about helping people tap into the transformative power of journaling and creative reflection.
Teaching poetry and journaling feels less like instruction and more like holding space. I love watching people soften into their truth, surprise themselves with what they write, and discover clarity or peace they didn’t know they needed. Whether you’re brand new to expressive writing or returning after years away, my goal is to make you feel welcome, safe, and inspired.
What started as a personal practice has since grown into something I now share with others through intimate workshops and community sessions. I first ran a four-week journaling series in Vancouver, and now offer soulful workshops here in Melbourne, where I live with my family. My poetry has been featured in curated lifestyle shops and independent bookstores, and my book Hanune was published in 2020 (with a second edition recently released).
At the heart of it all, I believe we all have something worth saying—and that writing can be a gentle way to return home to yourself. I’d love to create that space for you.
