Junk Journalling Workshop

Turn scraps and treasures into a story that’s all your own!

3 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests

  $110 (Afterpay available)

Step into the creative world of junk journalling in this hands-on class at Zetta Florence. Over the session, you’ll receive a brand-new sketchbook and begin filling the first few pages with your own ideas, memories, and inspiration.
Come with a theme in mind. Will your journal capture travel adventures, daily musings, or the changing seasons?
We recommend gathering little treasures along the way, things like:
  • Tickets
  • Snippets
  • Notes
  • Other small objects that fit your theme
The class begins with playful practice---you’ll explore collaging techniques using our plentiful selection of papers, ephemera, and bits and bobs. From there, you’ll move into your own sketchbook, guided through techniques that will help your journal come alive, while learning a little about the history and craft of junk journalling.
Journaling is a meditative, reflective practice, and this class encourages a gentle, solo exploration of your creativity, while still offering guidance and inspiration along the way.
By the end, you’ll leave with the beginnings of a personal, themed junk journal, along with the skills and confidence to continue your creative journey at home.

  • 4/5 from Olivia Cochrane, attended Oct 2025: This was a really fun introduction to junk journalling! I loved the workshop space and the Zetta Florence team were lovely and attentive. This is 100% personal preference, but I would have enjoyed the class a lot more if the booklet and concertina exercises were optional or left to the second half of the workshop. I like being spontaneous and free with creating artwork and exploring new processes in my own time. I found those exercises a little stressful (it gave me flashbacks to high school maths haha!) and I didn't get the most of them. Asides from that, I loved the class and look forward to exploring junk journalling! The journal was a lovely bonus.
  • 5/5 from Emmy, attended Sep 2025: Yesterday I went to the most amazing calligraphy workshop! I was greeted by a smile with a lovely coffee! I haven’t been that invested and focused on a task for a long time and it was refreshing! I slowed down and created with my hands and surrounded by people who wanted to do the same!! The facilities were great too and afterwards it was lovely to stroll around the store :)) Thank you!!
