Kickstart to Make Larger Indoor / Outdoor Mosaics Class

Making a larger piece, like a birdbath or a planter or a large wall piece takes time. We know it is difficult to commit to long term workshops, so we are offering you an option to attend a three hour workshop to kick-start your mosaic project. If you have never made a mosaic before, then an intimate class is ideal, where you will have at most two people in your class. If you are familiar with mosaicing but are ready to try your hand at a larger/more difficult piece, a three-hour session is perfect to get your project started with our staff, who will help you as needed to get your project underway. So we are offering two options: an intimate class or an intermediate class to kick-start your own mosaic project. We are open weekdays Monday to Friday, Tuesday nights and on Sunday mornings. Other weekend times on an appointment basis.Class overview:In this informative hands-on class you will learn the steps in making a large mosaic piece. You'll get creative working with a range of materials, adhesives, substrates, tiles, and grouts that are used for indoor/outdoor mosaics, as well as learning how to cut glass using mosaic cutters, free hand scorers and a glass cutting system. You will get one-on-one assistance to get your questions answered and begin with the right skills. During the class, you'll receive step-by-step instructions for how to make your mosaic and pick up knowledge and tips for making indoor/outdoor projects. You will begin making your piece and at the end of the workshop, you will gain the skills and knowledge to move forward with your project either by attending future sessions in our studio or buying what you need to continue at home.If you attend one of our morning classes, you are welcome to book in for the afternoon mosaic class so that you can make a day of it.

• Due to the intimate nature of this workshop, at most two people per class, you will be able to have all your questions answered, plus gain the skills and know-how to start making your piece, while having a relaxing and fun time in the process.
• This class includes all glass and materials that you use during the workshop as well as use of all tools and equipment needed on the day. It does not include the base (potplant/table/birdbath etc.) that you are working on as you have the option of bringing your own.
• If you choose to use some of our specialty glass there will be an additional charge for that glass, which you can purchase on the day. You can also purchase glass and tools to take home if you want to work on your piece at home after the workshop.
• Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served.
