Have you wanted to take your felting to the next level? In this large wet felted vessel workshop, you’ll learn how to work with beautiful Merino wool to create a unique piece or a functional vase to take home. This hands-on workshop is suitable for beginners to intermediate makers, giving you the opportunity to learn new techniques while developing your confidence with wet felting.
You’ll be guided through how to encourage shape and control shrinkage as you build your vessel. You’ll discover how layers of Merino wool can be shaped, worked and transformed into a beautiful felted form. You don’t need previous experience; clear guidance and support will help you understand each stage of the process, making this an enjoyable and approachable activity.
Wet felting is a calming and mindful process, allowing you to slow down and focus on the feel and movement of the wool. It is also a physical activity involving hand, arm and shoulder work, so you’ll be encouraged to work at a comfortable pace and take breaks as needed. You may find the repetitive, tactile process relaxing, while also enjoying the satisfaction of seeing your vessel take shape.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have experienced the rewarding process of turning loose Merino wool into a strong, sculptural form. You’ll leave with new skills, a deeper understanding of how to shape and control felt, and your own beautiful handmade vessel to enjoy at home.

What to bring
Wear clothes that you don't mind getting wet or soapy. You are welcome to bring an extra towel or apron. Towels will be provided.
