In this beginner-friendly workshop and art class, you'll learn the ins and outs of hand building clay while you sip on your favourite beverage.
During the class, you'll have the opportunity to hand build a beautiful coil mug using earthenware clay. This mug will then be fired in the kiln, we will apply the glaze to your creation. It will then go through a second kiln firing for the perfect glaze finish.
Our professional pottery studio provides all the materials you need to create your unique masterpiece. You'll learn basic skills like hatching, shaping forms, and sticking materials together. Our experienced artist will guide you through the process with a demo and offer one-on-one assistance as needed. By the end of the class, you'll have some amazing pieces to take home and display with pride.
What makes our class special is that we provide the full service experience. The cost of the class includes all the necessary materials, as well as our kiln firing services. You will paint the mug with under glaze paints in the same class, so then it is simply the process of picking up the finished glazed piece in 4 weeks.
We now offer to paint the piece in the one session, or can split it over the two sessions if preferred. However it is a short cut, however we still have to kiln fire the piece twice. Your safety is our priority, and we have implemented a Covid Safe Plan to ensure social spacing. While we no longer provide aprons, you can purchase them in advance if needed. Please note minimum numbers of 7 people to run for most sessions, however we can do smaller sized groups when I am running the sessions myself, cheers
Join us for a pottery class that combines creativity, relaxation, and a chance to learn something new. Take home your handcrafted pieces and cherish them for years to come.
For a private function request, for the minimum size group required, you will get the first session as a private function with your own room and teacher. The second session is for a public session to paint and glaze which runs 7 days per week. Alternatively upon request, instead of second session we will clear dip and glaze your pieces so do not require to come back. However this has to be done as the whole group and not individually deciding then to paint or not.
Birthday Cake, Free for bookings of 7 people or more. Mud Caramel or chocolate depending on availability. (includes candle, napkins, plates, cutlery) Option to purchase $50 for smaller groups.

For larger groups of 7 plus we also have the Birthday cake at no cost, or for smaller groups under 7 people this is $50 which includes plates, napkins etc
The studio is still byo drinks and food. We have platters available for advance ordering if that makes it easier. We only provide plates and napkins for our platters, otherwise it is also byo plates, cutlery, and glassware. We have paper cups available in every session.
Moving Update
Uptown Queen Street is under going a full renovation. We will have to move before Christmas, we will confirm the moving dates. However pickup of Ceramic pieces maybe at new Premises. Belise, Bliss and Sip bar, 510 St Pauls Terrace, Bowen Hills. This is one block up from the King Street Precinct, with more street parking available in this area. Pickup is Fridays between 1pm and 4pm, Saturdays between 12pm till 2pm, and Sundays 3:30pm till 4pm

I'm a Brisbane-based artist, and I've been painting and drawing since my early childhood days. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.
I'm very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surrealism, animals, and people. North Queensland is a particular favorite, and you'll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.
I specialize in pastel on card and acrylic on canvas, though I'm also experimenting with abstract and airbrush.
I've been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.
I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for ClassBento Patrons. I believe in bringing these experiences to the customer at the very best competitive price possible, the real Australian Way. We hope you enjoy these sessions for a fun experience. The paintings are creative for maximum impact of colors, while keeping in mind first-time painting experiences. Those with a little more practice will create some amazing pieces.

The Wesley Taylor Art Studios Mission initially set out to create workshops at half the cost of other workshops for customers to be able to enjoy the experience of creating a piece of artwork. This endeavor was to create the foundation of employing artists with a like-minded sense of assisting customers to enjoy this time out while creating new art experiences. The goals of value for money for customers and employment for artists to run these fun activities that may mark a milestone, a birthday, a hen's party, a social activity, a first date, or company team-building events to build and strengthen relationships with a common bond of creating something new. Each dandelion in the field represents a thousand possibilities waiting to be released into the wind. Just relax and be free with the wind.
