Make and Paint a Pottery Mug Workshop

Looking for a fun activity to try in Brisbane? Join our pottery class at Wesley Taylor Art Studios! In this beginner-friendly workshop and art class, you'll learn the ins and outs of hand building clay while you sip on your favourite beverage. During the class, you'll have the opportunity to hand build a beautiful coil mug using earthenware clay. This mug will then be fired in the kiln, we will apply the glaze to your creation. It will then go through a second kiln firing for the perfect glaze finish.Our professional pottery studio provides all the materials you need to create your unique masterpiece. You'll learn basic skills like hatching, shaping forms, and sticking materials together. Our experienced artist will guide you through the process with a demo and offer one-on-one assistance as needed. By the end of the class, you'll have some amazing pieces to take home and display with pride.What makes our class special is that we provide the full service experience. The cost of the class includes all the necessary materials, as well as our kiln firing services. You will paint the mug with under glaze paints in the same class, so then it is simply the process of picking up the finished glazed piece in 4 weeks.We now offer to paint the piece in the one session, or can split it over the two sessions if preferred. However it is a short cut, however we still have to kiln fire the piece twice. We will then coat in Glaze for you service, so we can put it through for a glazed finish for pickup in 4 weeks guaranteed. Your safety is our priority, and we have implemented a Covid Safe Plan to ensure social spacing. While we no longer provide aprons, you can purchase them in advance if needed. Please note minimum numbers of 7 people to run for most sessions, however we can do smaller sized groups when I am running the sessions myself, cheers Join us for a pottery class that combines creativity, relaxation, and a chance to learn something new. The second session is for a public session to paint and glaze which runs 7 days per week. Alternatively upon request, instead of second session we will clear dip and glaze your pieces so do not require to come back. However this has to be done as the whole group and not individually deciding then to paint or not.Birthday Cake, Free for bookings of 7 people or more. For larger groups of 7 plus we also have the Birthday cake at no cost, or for smaller groups under 7 people this is $50 which includes plates, napkins etcBook in a public session for any size group does not matter if you have 20 people. On busy nights we split sessions into multiple rooms so at times you may have your own room or just sharing with 1 or 2 other groups. Best deals are $69pp Earlybird booked 5 days before any event dates or $79pp for any last minutes within 5 days of event date and time. You can book a private room and teacher which is the $79pp for groups of 15 plus, or same cost of that minimum amount if you have a smaller group. Put in the request on the booking page, just scroll to the very bottom of the dates, last one is making a request for your date and time. The studio is still byo drinks and food. We have platters available for advance ordering if that makes it easier. We only provide plates and napkins for our platters, otherwise it is also byo plates, cutlery, and glassware.
