I absolutely loved this workshop! Manjari is a wonderfully generous-hearted woman, who delighted in the opportunity to share her experience of Indian cultures from different regions. I loved what she taught us about embroidery. It is exactly what I have been looking for. I am a high school art teacher, so have been craving an artistic outlet that is mindful, where I don’t have to think, and can work very intuitively, expressively and freely, at the end of a day/week where I have small pockets of time. I took my sister in law, and we had a fabulously relaxed time. My mother passed recently, and she was a very gifted artist who enjoyed embroidery as well. This was a way of celebrating her and her birthday, by engaging in a craft she loved. Manjari comes from a background of rich cultural experience, tied in with her formal fashion and textiles training. She was so generous with her knowledge and came prepared with such a wide array of coloured threads, designs, and beautiful fabrics that participants could use to work embroidery onto. That was my chosen approach. I loved it! Thank you Manjari! Such a beautiful enriching time! I’d happily do the same workshop again! A very good price. Well worth it. My piece isn’t finished yet. I’m taking manjari’s advice not to rush it.️

Manjari was very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. I had a blast learning about the culture background, the history and the techniques of this traditional embroidery style. It's absolutely beginner friendly - it's my first time learning back stitching and blanket stitching and I think I did alright for a first timer. Manjari even brought brownies she made herself, absolutely delicious! This experience definitely brought up my curiosity and interest in doing more of this style of embroidery!

Teacher's response

Oh this is so beautiful work Lena ✨
Thankyou so much for your kind words and for sharing your creations! Keep up the good work!

Manjari is a warm and patient teacher with such a wealth of knowledge and experience and it was a delight to be in her workshop today.
The materials were beautiful and plentiful and Manjari generously offered to let us take home as much thread as we would like to complete our projects and then some!
Such a wonderful way to spend an afternoon connecting with our community and learning Kantha Embroidery which I’ll use for all sorts of gifts.
Thank you Manjari xxx
