local_activity Classes: Painting
Hi - I'm Maureen Barten - an artist by passion and lifelong training. I have been creating artwork in various media since I was a child. I began painting at university by default - and graduated with a degree in fine arts - which was not what I had planned. I am also a traveller and love to paint wherever I go. And so began my love affair with watercolours and my very mobile art studio - in a backpack!Durig the Covid years 2020-2022 I ran an online art school called Zoom Art with Maureen and discovered my HEARTwork! Working with many artists of all levels - beginners through advanced, my most significant rewards have been witnessing the growth and willingness to try something new amongst my students. By creating a safe space to explore, without judgement, the artist - the creator and the magician unfold! My commitment as teacher, guide or mentor is to challenge you - to hover in the space of comfort and discomfort long enough to grow a new pathway in the riverbed of your brain. STAY CURIOUS!
