What you'll do

Did you ever want to paint your own mural but lacked the experience, confidence or tools to take the leap? Jenny will help you visualise, refine and lay out your design to fit to your skills and the space.

Whether it's children’s bedrooms, feature walls, extending or decorating an indoor or outdoor space visually----anything is possible, limited only by your imagination.

Starting with concepts, Jenny will help you refine your ideas to fit the time you want to spend on it and what your desired outcome is.

Using digital and hand drawn images, you will then set your ideas into the space and visualise how the final concept will appear in the space.

Finally Jenny will run through the important information you will need to know to set up and transfer your image to the site, showing you the techniques and process for enlarging and laying out the image with confidence and a step by step guide to make it your own.

You will finish this session with a printable digital design outline and visualisation of the mural in your photograph of the space, and a set of instructions to help you transfer that image successfully onto the wall.

An adult must accompany any attending kids. The adult may observe at the class for free.

I have spent 30 years creating trompe l’oeil (trick of the eye) and anamorphic murals, portraits, commissioned works and 3D pavement art.

A year after leaving RMIT in 1988 I began creating work on the streets of Melbourne, first as a busking chalk artist, then travelling further afield as an invited performer at local and international festivals, in Europe and North America. This was followed by nearly a decade of work painting sets in the theatre, which culminated in the position of Head Painter on the Walking with Dinosaurs arena show. Throughout this period I continued to produce my own work, appearing in festivals and competitions around the world. In the end the dinosaurs had their day, and I moved on to pursue my own professional career.
Relocating to the Central Coast, after 30 years of work in Melbourne has led to a further shift in practice, with greater focus on large, permanent mural work, and developing studio practice built on the accumulated technical expertise of a lifetime, applied to a wide variety of subject matter.
