Step into the calming world of watercolour and learn how to paint delicate florals and charming forest mushrooms in this beginner-friendly workshop. In this three-hour class, you’ll be guided through the essential foundations of watercolour painting — from understanding water control to building soft layers of colour without creating mud. Whether you’ve never picked up a brush before or want to refine your technique, this session will give you the confidence to create luminous, expressive artwork.
You’ll begin with simple warm-up exercises to explore:
  • Wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques
  • Controlling pigment strength
  • Creating smooth gradients and soft blends
  • Understanding light and shadow in watercolour
Once you feel comfortable with the basics, you’ll move into guided studies of a floral form and a forest mushroom. You’ll learn how to:
  • Paint soft, dimensional petals
  • Create natural-looking leaves with subtle tonal shifts
  • Add texture and depth to mushroom caps
  • Use negative space to keep your work light and fresh
For the three-hour class, you will learn:
  • Poppy
  • Lavender
  • King Mushroom
  • Toadstool
If there’s time:
  • Rose
  • Ink Cap Mushroom
In the final portion of the class, you’ll combine your skills into a small finished composition — a beautiful botanical piece you can frame or gift.
