Nude painting using palette knife was fantastic. Ali was great and has a wealth of knowledge that she could impart with us. Wonderful venue atmosphere and company. Ali was very encouraging and helped whoever wanted help. Ali told us her background and how she rekindled her love of painting during lockdown.

This was such a fun event and I was so glad I got to do it with my housemate as she loves to paint and is really creative but we are both still learning! There was some great pointers, the presenter was really cheerful and positive and friendly and I liked how we could paint what we wanted and make it our own! I alos liked how everyone was muted as sometimes people are on these groups and there is a tonne of backgrund noise and it is distracting and annoying! Having Simon there in the background was great!

Paint and Sip Class: Palette Knife Monet Painting
It was great to finally paint at the Gas Works again after a long time in lockdown. Very beneficial to receive assistance from Nikki snd to see what others are doing as you learn by seeing what others do. The birds were twisting the tempo just right the painting was amazing and so different to paint with a palette knife.

What a nice way to spend the evening. I really enjoyed my first time painting experience. It was soo chill, was at a good pace, every step of the way everyone was supported, learnt new techniques and colors. This was so therapeutic and soo good to reconnect with the inner artist in me. I had a lot of fun in this class, I stepped out of my comfort zone (i’d usually draw in pencil first bit outline in paint) and I had a few moments but it all worked out in the end. The teacher and support were lovely with access to all information in written notes also. My favourite part was seeing everyone else’s at the end. Although we’d all followed the same process they were all completely different with their own Purrsonalities. I found it a little slow at times but thought it was great that we weren’t rushed through and everyone got the chance to catch up. I really I really enjoyed it and had a fun afternoon. Thanks guys!

I thoroughly enjoyed doing this virtual painting class. The kit I received prior to the class was comprehensive and instructions received prior and during class were clear and easy to follow. The teachers were very encouraging and allowed ample opportunity for all participants to ask questions and time to complete each stage of the painting. Great fun and a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours whilst in self isolation. I’ve had many compliments on the piece I completed which is great because I’m a novice to painting.

It felt even though we were not together that we were having fun together.
Watching Nikki and showing us what to do. We had enough time to do everything and the end result was pleasing. No two were alike and we all have our individual style. Even though we all did the same painting. Listening to music helps with the creative mind

I enjoyed throwing myself into a different style of painting to what I normally paint. I found it challenging at first but had made a decision to just do so do it I did. Thanks for the opportunity and the fun atmosphere. I might even have another go at the portrait and see where it takes me. You kept the pace moving along and the only reason I lagged a little was because my chosen substrate was a big bigger than the provided one and it was board so harder to get the paint down all my mistakes not yours so cheers for a fun and learning experience.

Nice lesson with very welcoming instructors and with easy to follow instructions. Was good to hear little tips and tricks throughout. It was great to see everyone sharing their work as well and have a nice piece of artwork to show off at the end. The time just flew which shows how enjoyable it was.

Nikki was really great with interacting with all ‘budding’ artists.
For a first timer myself it was a little fast paced however was very exciting to complete parts of the painting.
