$77 - $85 (Earlybird price of $77 applies if you book into a public session 10+ days ahead) (Afterpay available)

Spend an evening in a cosy studio, painting your very own one-of-a-kind ceramic keepsake.
In this workshop, you will get to choose from some pre-made ceramic pieces and paint them however you like. We will go through sketching ideas and working on composition, mixing ceramic underglaze (paint), and the application of underglaze onto the clay.
This workshop is very relaxed, and you will have the freedom to take your time and create. There will be guidance on mixing and application of glaze, but otherwise - the space is your own to paint whatever you desire.
After the workshop, I will cover your painted ceramics in a clear glaze and put them in the kiln for their final glaze firing. You will then be able to collect your cup in a couple of weeks.
The ceramics that you paint in this workshop are foodsafe, microwavable and dishwasher safe.

I'm Grace and I am a multimedia artist based in South East Melbourne. I have been making and selling artwork since i was about 13 years old and have never really been able to settle on a specific medium - until ceramics. I started ceramics in 2021 with the intention of becoming the wheel thrower of my friend group - 'come to me if you need a new bowl!', however that hobby very quickly turned into my everyday and then as of early 2025 - my full time job. Although I started ceramics on a pottery wheel, i slowly moved my practice over to be more centred around handbuilding. I love the intuitive nature that comes with handbuilding and i find it compliment's illustrative glazing really nicely. My decade of oil painting, realism graphite drawing and fineline illustration has come to heavily influence how i approach making my ceramic pieces, and I love sharing how to pull from other art practices to collaborate with clay to create a one of a kind piece of functional artwork.
