What you'll do

We'll be hosting a very new kind of workshop and concept: Painting Wearable Artworks, with CLAW Creative. Join us for an informal, introvert-friendly, meditative, and easy-entry creative time.

Pick from over 800 different designs by more than 80 local artists, and apply your own unique paint job to a laser-engraved artwork of your choice, using forgiving watercolours. We'll have paintable necklaces, earrings, rings, swappable rings, badges, and birthday cardalas available for sale, to paint casually in our collaborative gallery space.

Each piece of jewellery functions like a wearable colouring-in book, allowing for indirect collaboration and experiencing art through essentially society-mirroring templates. Purely play with technique, without the pressure of pulling 'something' from 'nothing', making art easier.

You'll have the opportunity to write a message on the back of your painted artwork, adding another layer of yourself to your unique keepsake, while also helping established and emerging artists get their voices out there.

nGraveYard is all about encouraging and supporting creativity, using technology to strengthen instead of replace, and getting back to the reason we all express what makes art—art, and to strengthen our connections and our community.

Our collaboration is new to Melbourne, so we're very excited to meet more artists, get the ball rolling, and offer our first workshop with CLAW Creative entirely for free, to share a festival experience a bit closer to home. We aim to encourage curiosity and maybe the discovery of a newfound outlet, in a time where alternative voices are invaluable.

What you'll get

Any selected paintable piece of jewellery (badges, necklaces, rings, swappable rings, earrings, etc), along with a detail brush, eco-friendly varnish, and a poetry QR code keychain.
Watercolour paints are supplied to use at CLAW Creative Studio.
