Perfume Playground is an award-winning Australasian fragrance house founded by perfumer Samantha Copland in 2016. From our Melbourne and Auckland studios, we create fragrances for brands, people and spaces, and share the art of perfumery through welcoming, hands-on workshops.

Our approach brings together Scent, Soul & Science: technical knowledge, curiosity and the personal connections that make fragrance meaningful. Our fragrance work received Bronze in the Floral category at the Clean & Conscious Awards.

Samantha studied natural perfumery with Mandy Aftel and holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology and Psychology. Her further studies span aromatherapy, Asia-Pacific native plants, flower essences and cosmetic formulation. A love of botanical ingredients and a decade of creating fragrances shape the way we teach: practical, thoughtful and full of room to experiment.

Our workshops are guided by professional perfumers who help you discover the notes you love, understand how they work together, and refine a fragrance that feels like you. You don’t need any experience—just curiosity. Whether you’re joining with friends, celebrating a special occasion or exploring a new creative interest, we’ll make you feel at home in the scent studio.
