Pit Fire Pottery Course

Create and fire your own pottery in Upper Main Arm

2 x 7 hours Class size 4 to 30     label $200

Join this exciting pit fire pottery workshop, set in the beautiful Mt. Jerusalem, in Upper Main Arm.

Come on Saturday morning 10am and leave Sunday evening with your beautifully fired creations and an understanding of how the pit fire pottery process works.

As this type of firing results in pottery which is more decorative, and slightly porous (not necessarily food/drink safe unless we seal with wax), we will consider making objects accordingly.

Some ideas include and not limited to:

  • Planter pot
  • Vase for dry dry flowers
  • Simple bowl for jewellery, etc
  • Candle / incense holder
  • Decorative sculpture
  • Altar piece

Overnight camping is available here for $50 if you’d like to set up a tent and drop deeper into nature surrounded by the calming energies of the massive trees.  We also have a temple space on a first come first serve basis. You’re welcome to use our kitchen, bathroom and showers as well.

We are gratefully and respectfully looking after a beautiful home on private property and studio / temple space with lovely views and plenty of natural rainforest surrounds to inspire. Please enjoy your visit and share this respect as you enter the property.

Your teacher

As a professional clay enthusiast and qualified teacher since 1999, I am deeply passionate about sharing my gifts with others. And currently, as a small business owner of Wild Nature Clay, I offer weekly wheel and hand building lessons, a kiln hire service, and the very popular weekend Raku Workshops held monthly from my beautiful mountaintop studio in Upper Main Arm, NSW.
Along with teaching others, I also harvest and process locally dug clay, that I turn into handmade dinnerware sets and large table bowls.
Come join the weekend workshop fun, where you'll learn to make and fire your own Raku pieces! Camp overnight and relax into the peaceful space provided with a gorgeous view surrounded by massive trees, nearby creeks and refreshing waterfalls.
