Relax and unwind after a long week with our ceramic painting class with glazes in the Brisbane City studio. Get inspired by the colourful studio and make a piece of art you can show off at home.
This class is the perfect way to express your inner Picasso and melt (or paint) away from your worries of the day while sipping on a glass of your favourite beverage.
Get creative with friends or spend a calming solo evening at this boozy ceramic painting class in Brisbane.
Note:
  • Firing only pieces from our clay and sip, or wheel sessions are included for 1 piece, with each extra piece being an additional $15 per piece for the painted glaze pieces. Hence, you can make the items in a clay and sip hand-built, or wheel throwing session, and leave the piece to be fired the first time for ceramic painting. It will then need a second firing after the ceramic painting.
  • For glazing, your ceramics bisque ware has been in the kiln. This can be painted with ceramic underglaze paint. Once dry, a clear glaze coat is added, and then it is ready for the second firing.
  • Firing takes 1-2 weeks.
  • We do not offer a transfer of date within the notice period of 7 days. You may give the session seating to another person; however, this is non-refundable if you do not make it.

For larger groups of 7 plus we also have the Birthday cake at no cost, or for smaller groups under 7 people this is $50 which includes plates, napkins etc
Book in a public session for any size group does not matter if you have 20 people. On busy nights we split sessions into multiple rooms so at times you may have your own room or just sharing with 1 or 2 other groups. Best deals are $29pp Earlybird booked 5 days before any event dates or $39pp for any last minutes within 5 days of event date and time. You can book a private room and teacher which is the $39pp for groups of 15 plus, or same cost of that minimum amount if you have a smaller group. Put in the request on the booking page, just scroll to the very bottom of the dates, last one is making a request for your date and time.
The studio is still byo drinks and food. We have platters available for advance ordering if that makes it easier. We only provide plates and napkins for our platters, otherwise it is also byo plates, cutlery, and glassware. We have paper cups available in every session.

What you'll get
The session includes the ceramic glazes required. However, it does not include the ceramics available for separate sale organised before the event. Any clay creations made only in our hand-built or pottery wheel throwing sessions may also be used for the ceramic painting process.

Beginners are welcome. No experience is required.
What to bring
  • Bring an apron, as these are not provided due to COVID procedures.
  • Bring a bottle of your favourite beverage. We have plastic cups; however, any glassware or cutlery is also BYO.
  • Please note, PIckup the piece you made in a session on the day. You should have an sms with a box or shelf number saying it is ready. Otherwise you will still need to purchase the ceramic piece is for separate sale, and you will be required to purchase a piece to paint from $29, which includes the $20 firing fee for the finished piece.
  • If you have previously been to a session with a fired piece, this is also suitable.

I'm a Brisbane-based artist, and I've been painting and drawing since my early childhood days. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.
I'm very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surrealism, animals, and people. North Queensland is a particular favorite, and you'll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.
I specialize in pastel on card and acrylic on canvas, though I'm also experimenting with abstract and airbrush.
I've been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.
I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for ClassBento Patrons. I believe in bringing these experiences to the customer at the very best competitive price possible, the real Australian Way. The Wesley Taylor Art Studios Mission initially set out to create workshops at half the cost of other workshops for customers to be able to enjoy the experience of creating a piece of artwork.
