Looking for fun things to do in Gold Coast? First time throwing clay on the pottery wheel? Join Wesley Taylor in this creative and relaxing experience!In this two-hour workshop, you will receive guidance from a patient and experienced teacher to help you make ceramic works of art! You will get to make three pieces in this pottery wheel workshop.What to expect in our Gold Coast wheel throwing workshop:In this 1.5 to 2-hour workshop you will receive step-by-step guidance from a patient and experienced teacher to help you make a few unique masterpieces. We will be working with earthenware pottery clay, which means you can take it home and let it dry, or put it through the kiln so it is ready for your custom painting after the first firing. This process will get the best result and can get the exact paintwork you want in a second session without rushing.Or you can keep it as air-dried clay and paint your creations yourself later however you feel, with acrylic paint!Have all the assistance you need to create something you love!Please note: A minimum of four people is required to run public sessions. Alternatively, we do have private sessions for larger groups.RRP $149 per person. However, early bird tickets are from $99 within one week of the date. Functions and last-minute tickets are on sale for $109 for the best deals. You can book a private room and teacher, which is $109 per person for groups of eight plus, or the same cost for that minimum amount if you have a smaller group. Wesley Taylor Art Studios was created by artist Wesley Taylor from Brisbane City. The Gold Coast, being one of his favorite places to visit, inspired him to create pop-up workshops with Clay and Sip, and Paint and Sip during the 2020 Covid era. These pop-up workshops still run today, some 6 years later, at three restaurant locations. Meanwhile, in Brisbane City, he created one of the largest pottery workshops in the heart of the city. Now, he is bringing this to the Gold Coast, with pottery wheel throwing sessions in our very own studio, which is also BYO drinks and snacks, the same as the Brisbane City studios. We are also bringing some of our other workshop styles to the Gold Coast, such as Hat Burning and Ceramic pre-glazed painting, both very popular with tourists.
