  • 5/5 from Tania Dunne, attended Nov 2024: Didn't know what to expect as never done anything like this before and didn't really know much about moss or lichen to be honest. Wow it certainly exceeded my expectations and I thoroughly enjoyed the class. Sam is clear with instructions, even explaining about the different types of moss and their names. It is clear Sam is passionate about all things plants and her enthusiasm is infectious! At the end of the class you have something individiually designed and created by you and its ready framed to hang up and display. I would love to another of these in the future! So much fun - Awesome!!
  • 5/5 from Sarah, attended Oct 2024: This class was so enjoyable, and Sam is a wonderful teacher! We were provided with a great variety of mosses, and Sam encouraged us to get creative with our arrangements while also offering helpful guidance. We left with our moss art already framed in a stunning dark brown timber finish. The venue had a lovely spot behind the shop for the workshops, surrounded by beautiful plants. I would highly recommend this class!
  • 5/5 from Violet Gayheart, attended Oct 2024: So cool and the facilitator was lovely. Love the piece I made!

Hi, I’m Sam, founder of Plant Collector Melbourne.
I’ve always believed plants are about so much more than keeping something alive. They have a quiet way of transforming how a space feels and, in turn, how we feel within it.
That belief is at the heart of every Botanical Experience we create.
Each experience is designed to slow you down, spark your creativity and reconnect you with nature through making something beautiful with your own hands. Whether you’re creating a terrarium, crafting a Japanese kokedama moss ball or exploring another botanical art form, our hope is that you leave feeling inspired, grounded and proud of what you’ve created.
You don’t need a green thumb or any previous experience - only curiosity.
Over the years, Plant Collector Melbourne has had the privilege of welcoming hundreds of people across Melbourne through public workshops, private celebrations and team experiences for organisations looking to connect in a meaningful way. We’ve also had the joy of facilitating workshops at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, where hundreds of participants join us each year.
Whether you’re joining as an individual, celebrating a special occasion or planning a memorable experience for your team, our botanical experiences are thoughtfully designed to bring people together through creativity, conversation and nature.
We’d love to welcome you to one of our Botanical Experiences.
