It’s great to see how Brett is adapting, recycling and creating too. The chopping board came out beautifully and hopefully we’ll be back for another class soon!

We got to see the big tools around the studio and tried some of them as part of our experience. Brett was really caring and made sure we know the safety precautions well as we moved through the day. He happily showed me all the tools needed to complete the work, let me run wild with the project and offered support if needed. He explained everything in a way my intimidated brain could understand and really demystified the tools. Brett let me have a go at a drop saw, a table saw, a router, a planer and the orbital sander. All done safely with explanations of how the tools work. Also, just a really great guy and easy to chat to. The hours flew by so quickly. 10/10

Brett was an amazing teacher, and took the time to explain the whole process from wood selection to cutting, sanding and how to use all the tools super safely. I'll definitely be back

Plenty of skills and tips learnt to translate to other things, not just creating a (very cool) chopping board. Highly recommend and would absolutely considering a longer intensive furniture making course.

I learned about different types of wood, was shown how to safely use machinery and put together my own chopping board. Brett was friendly, approachable, and very forthcoming with information. He even offered extra guidance on using the power drill, which I really appreciated as a first-timer. The venue and materials were great and well set up for learning. What I liked most was how relaxed and non-intimidating the whole experience was. It felt very accessible and made woodworking feel enjoyable and achieveable. Highly recommend for anyone curious to try woodworking for the first time!

It was easy to see the passion behind the teachings which had us excited to start creating as we walked in.
