Hi, I’m Sandra. I’m a retired teacher who has been gluten-free for over 22 years. I want to share my experience with others, particularly the newly diagnosed.

I learnt to make macarons back in 2020 from a French pâtissière chief. I am not a qualified chef but I love baking macarons and have been running classes, in my home kitchen, for a few years. I like the idea that you don’t need a commercial kitchen to make these beautiful treats. You will go away with all the skills to make beautiful macarons at home. I also provide support, through Instagram. So if you have any question after the class, you can still get help and advice.

In the future, I plan on creating classes on gluten-free cooking. I love cooking Italian and French food using gluten-free ingredients. The idea of cooking together and enjoying the fruits of our labour together is what I feel food is all about. I want to share this love with others through small group classes in my home kitchen.

I am sorry, but due to family circumstances, I will not be running classes for May or June.

Sandra was a fantastic teacher. I had never contemplated attempting to make macarons but saw this opportunity and decided to give it a go.
Sandra provided everything. What made the class particularly good was her teaching skills. Having spent decades as a school teacher, she really knows how to teach, so that it was a lesson, not a demonstration. Adult learners learn by doing. Sandra was fantastic at demonstrating a skill, then handing over to us to practice it.
I would absolutely recommend Sandra as a teacher and this class for learning something out of your comfort zone (I was terrified of piping but she taught it so well).

Sandra is so talented and such a wonderful teacher. She took the time to make sure we got key techniques correct. The small group setting is absolutely perfect to allow everyone to have a go and no one was left out. I thoroughly enjoyed today’s class, and will be back for more!

Sandra’s class was run efficiently and on time. I learnt so many new skills and walked away feeling like a master of macarons! The venue was clean and spacious enough for everyone to see the demonstration and to be able to do some hands on work. The coffee upon arrival was magnificent. The class was worth every cent I paid! Both the class and the recipe provided were thorough and enlightening when it comes to macaron making. Sandra's experience in teaching could be felt while she walked us through the steps as well as when she supported us when we would get hands-on with making the macarons. I do think having a small class with a fair amount of time allowed us all to comfortably follow the recipe and engage in conversation with one another, making the experience a lot more fun. Overall, very happy with the class!

I LOVE macarons and was afraid to venture out to learn how to bake it myself. So when I was searching for more exciting Class Bento classes, a NEW macaron class (OMG - Christmas themed too) came up, I did not hesitate to book my very first macaron baking class with Sandra from @in_my_glutenfree_kitchen through NDIS- And wow, I had so much fun. Sandra provided us with a tidy and clean kitchen area to work on. It was so organised, she even printed detailed macaron recipes for us. We made peppermint and gingerbread flavoured macarons. To be honest, these two flavours are my least favourite out of all my favourite flavours. And oh boy, that has changed since baking macarons today. I love it! The flavours were very subtle. Sandra’s instructions were easy to follow and she’s always asking us if we have any questions. I feel a bit more confident with making macarons now, thanks to Sandra’s easy-to-follow instructions. At the end, we drizzled all the macarons with white chocolate and different kind of sprinkles. What an amazing day it was!
