No — parents and carers are not required to stay during the workshop. Sessions are designed to help children settle in independently in a calm, welcoming studio environment. Of course, if your child is feeling nervous at drop-off, you are more than welcome to stay until they feel comfortable and confident.
Q: Does my child need art experience?
Not at all! The workshops are designed to suit a range of ages and experience levels. We guide students through each activity step-by-step while still giving them lots of room to explore their own ideas and creativity.
Q: What will students be doing?
Each session includes a mix of drawing and painting activities inspired by things like nature, animals, imagination, illustration and artists. We’ll explore different materials, techniques and creative approaches in a relaxed and encouraging studio environment.
Q: Will students bring their artworks home?
Yes — students will head home with finished artworks from the day, along with new ideas and creative skills.
Q: What ages is this class suitable for?
A: 6 to 13 years. Adult accompaniment is not required.
Q: What's the cancellation policy?
A: Free to cancel or reschedule up until 3 days before the class

Welcome to my Studio! I’m Rachel — a self-taught artist, educator, and lover of colour, light and storytelling. My studio is a warm, inviting space in Camberwell where we slow down, play with paint, and make art that feels good. Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to art after a break, my classes are all about confidence, curiosity and joyful creative expression. We focus on hands-on learning, gentle guidance, playful prompts and a friendly, no-pressure vibe — because art should be fun and supportive, not intimidating. From beginner oil painting courses to theme-based workshops and monthly sketch groups, each session is designed to help you see better, paint with more confidence, and enjoy the experience of making with others. You’ll leave with new skills, new art, and often new friends too.
