Screen Printing Workshop

Do you love fabric, colour, texture, and patterns? Have you always wanted to learn to screenprint? Well, this class is for you!

This workshop will help you understand the basic techniques of screen printing and transferring designs onto fabric through your very own hand-cut stencils and mark making.

Your teacher will show you how to transfer your design ideas using stencils, various brushes, and stamps to print your own little fabric collection. You will learn tips and tricks to be able to continue printing at home if you so desire.

The possibilities of transferring your own mark onto fabric are endless!

By the end of the class, you will go home with your own bundle of printed fabrics that can be transformed into a tote, small zipper pouch, cushion cover, and so much more!

You will also receive an information booklet, which will include some of the techniques learned and how to continue at home.

Come and join us at River Studios for a day filled with colour, texture and printing.

Please note: There are no cafes within walking distance of the studio.

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 2 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we'll cancel the class; in this case we'll inform you and allow you to get a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

• Bundle of printed fabrics.
• Information booklet and the hand-cut stencils you make.
• Morning tea will be provided with tea and coffee.

• Wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit of ink on or bring an old apron to wear.
• Your lunch - fridge, microwave, and sandwich toaster are all available.
• Ideas, pictures, or drawings to use as inspiration for your designs. There will be plenty of inspiration available on the day too!
• Feel free to bring your own fabric to print on. Natural fibers only, please, as the inks used are best suited for fabrics such as cotton, linen, or hemp. Light-coloured fabrics are best.
