Thank you for an amazing day, Simone!
  • 5/5 from Angela Mirecki, attended Aug 2026: had a fab day at Femke textiles learning screen printing in a nice small group of 3, our teacher was inspiring and informative, we had lots of nice conversations and we all had some lovely printed fabric to take home.
  • 5/5 from Annie Courtney, attended Aug 2026: Absolutely loved our workshop with Simone. She was fantastic- very encouraging and easy to follow. Highly recommend
  • 5/5 from Elizabeth Vun, attended Aug 2026: What a great class! I have had some experience with silk screen printing before and this class is the perfect taster. Simone set everything up for us at each stage of the printing process which made it so easy to focus on the enjoyment of making our artworks. Small class sizes are also a bonus. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a fun and creative class.
  • 5/5 from Andrea McAlpine, attended Jul 2026: We had a fabulous day with Simone learning the basics of screen printing. Simone’s experience and enthusiasm made the workshop fun, interesting and easy to follow. The facilities are ideal and the day’s timing was just right to design, create and print a number of pieces. Whilst it would be great for anyone interested in learning, we did the workshop as a private class for a group of 4 friends which made it even more fun - I highly recommend it!
  • 5/5 from Jeremy Steel, attended Jul 2026: The experience I had in Simone's screen printing workshop was very enjoyable, definitely worthwhile and motivating. The work space is Simone's own studio, which means it is not only functional but a repository of her own works and many years experience teaching and practicing textile design and screen printing. In addition, "Femke Textiles" is adjacent to the studios of other artists and designers, giving one the feeling of being in a genuinely creative environment. Simone was methodical in her teaching but also responsive to my questions, curiosity and the direction our efforts took us. Although I had no experience in screen printing, the prints I took home with me feel like a genuinely collaborative effort. In other words, there was exploration, conversation and dialogue. This resulted in prints that have a richness and quality impossible to achieve if one works in isolation. All of the materials and tools needed for the class were provided, along with clear and succinct explanations to ensure an understanding of what was being used and why. The hours passed quickly and happily. Having finished the workshop motivated and encouraged, my wish is to build on what I learned. In the end though, the experience is a reminder of the remarkable potential we all have to create something worthwhile and to pass our time with meaning and purpose, in the company of good people.

She is a great teacher, from helping with design inspiration to demonstrating the process and assisting to turn your designs into beautiful fabric prints. Thank you Simone! • 5/5 from Nadia, attended Nov 2024: I can't recommend Simone's screen printing workshop enough! I attended with my mum and sister as their birthday present to me, and we all had the best time! Simone was a great teacher and her lovely studio was the perfect setting for our small group. We left the day with a few lovely examples of our own designs and a new found love for screen printing.
  • 5/5 from Amanda Croatto, attended Nov 2024: The occasion was a birthday present for one of my daughters from me and another daughter, so we made up the 3 people in the class. Simone was very friendly and welcoming and we all chatted and laughed our way through the class. She was very hands-on and always there to give any assistance or support needed. The venue was great with excellent facilities for the screen printing workshop. Simone supplied plenty of materials and encouragement and we all created our own stencils and then printed 2-3 pieces of fabric, enough to actually make a couple of things. We thought the class was good value for money as with only three of us Simone was able to give us all a lot of attention and assistance which ensured a successful outcome for us all. We had such a good day, and the birthday girl said it was one of her best presents ever!
