Facilitated by Duldig's sculptor-in-residence, Stefan Damschke, this class lets you roll up your sleeves and engage with Duldig Studio in a new way, by getting hands-on experience while learning about sculpture from a creative practitioner. Let your creativity flow as you master how to mould and shape your clay into unique pieces to take home.

Learn techniques in this hand-building sculpture workshop designed for adults and feel inspired by the surrounding work by the Duldig Studio Ceramic collection.

This is a flexible workshop suitable for beginners looking to build a foundation as well as more experienced sculptors wishing to develop their techniques. Learn about key concepts including balance and structure which will be indispensable for your further sculptural journey.

Stefan Damschke worked with Karl Duldig, as student and then as his assistant from 1976-86, and has been curator and sculpture teacher at Duldig Studio since 1999. The Duldig family home was opened as a museum in 1996. In 2002, the association, The Duldig Gallery Inc. became incorporated as a public museum and art gallery to operate the Duldig Studio. It is a tax exempt charity and recognised as a deductible gift recipient institution under the Commonwealth Government’s Cultural Gifts Program. At this time a gallery space was added to the original house so that changing exhibitions could be mounted. Within the house a number of rooms are maintained as they were during the family’s residence. Karl’s original studio, with kiln, tools and work across all periods has been kept as it was left by the artist, and in the adjoining garden the bronze and terracotta sculptures also remain in situ.
