What you'll do
Looking for relaxing activities in Queensland? Let your worries go at a Shibori and indigo dyeing workshop with Imprint Corner.
In this casual class, you will learn how to utilise an indigo dye vat and Shibori techniques to create your own beautiful and unique patterned designs.
Class overview:
- Learn how to create and maintain an indigo vat.
- Learn different pattern-making techniques; binding, stitching, folding, twisting, and compressing.
- We utilise folded, tied, and clamped resist techniques in the workshop.
- Dye natural fibre goods in an indigo vat.
- All dye materials are provided along with a scarf.
- Instruction will be given on creating a variety of patterns.
- Refreshments are provided. Wear clothes appropriate for dyeing.
At the end of this laid-back class, you will take home your own beautiful, dyed scarf and the skills to continue creating with fun Shibori techniques.
Covid requirements:
- We will assume that all participants will not have had an onset of any Covid-19 symptoms or knowingly been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms in the previous 14 days.

Imprint Corner aims is to promote knowledge exchange, in a fun interactive environment. When it comes to slow living and slow food, Susan Sinclair is a strong advocate. Susan is passionate about fermented foods and natural plant based dyeing techniques. She loves teaching her workshop attendees how to make their own organic, artisan crusty sourdough and delicious homemade cheeses. Additionally, Susan’s appreciation of beautiful things and sustainable slow fashion, has led her down a path of exploration and experimentation towards naturally dyed fabrics using food waste and plant-based dyes. By building the foundations of knowledge, Susan believes this empowers her attendees, so they are comfort to create their own masterpieces.
