• 5/5 from Benita Joy, attended May 2026: I had an absolutely beautiful day doing this class. I was lucky enough to be the only student, and Tatiana was such a thoughtful host. The food was delicious, the room was warm with a lovely view, and nothing was too hard or too much to ask for. Lunch was really tasty with Tatiana and her husband. There were so many luxuries that felt beautifully thoughtful and made you feel like you were really special. The class itself was really well paced, and at no point did I feel rushed. I didn't even check the time once throughout the day. Tatiana explained everything very clearly, including what to do if something went wrong in your process. She offered very helpful suggestions for colours or designs and had lots of templates to choose from as well as so many inspiring pieces around the room and her house, but there was also plenty of room for your own creativity to add or remove elements, or completely draw your own design. While the whole process was really enjoyable and just the right amount of new and challenge, painting the silk with colours was just the most wonderful part... This is the step where the magic happens. The colours behave so beautifully and it's a quite meditative process, watching the colour spread and blend and fill your shapes. Noticing the subtle changes as it dries.. Later while Tatiana works the final magic of setting the dyes and finishing your scarf the whole ferny creek area is beautiful to walk around. So many glorious autumn trees and mushrooms. I thoroughly enjoyed my day. This is one of the most fun and exciting workshops I have done. I would actually recommend it to anyone!! I will most definitely be back to paint another -hopefully bigger, scarf. The beautiful thing about this art form is that even where you make a mistake, it still looks so exquisite, especially when viewed on its own. I am really proud of the scarf I was able to make, and have received many compliments on it when I wore it today.
• 5/5 from Sarah Draycott, attended Jan 2026: Tatiana is a wonderful host - it really is like going for day to a wellbeing retreat for the day, her home is an immaculate art gallery surrounded by fern trees and there are parrots eating the nuts out of the tree in her front garden. The place is easy to find and there is parking available. Tatiana guides you through the process of painting on silk and her own work really is incredible to see. I have a neurological condition which means I have tremor in my hands and would encourage people with health difficulties to still give this a go, rest your arm on the table and plan your strokes from A to B, you don't have to paint write up to the border because the ink will spread by itself so even though I have health difficulties I am very happy with what I was able to make and am planning what I'll make next when I go back. This activity can be extended into a project, because it's possible to embroider/do bead embroidery on top of the silk painting, and either frame it or sew it e.g. into a cushion.

She welcomed us into her home and warmly welcomed us with tea before we started on our projects. We stopped for a lovely lunch before finishing our projects. Whilst we waited for the items to be steamed and set we were able to go for a walk and explore the local shopping strip. It was relaxing and informative and I loved our finished pieces! That was the first impression. I was greeted by Tatiana as soon as I got out of car. Then the real impression, and the big WOW came as soon as I entered her beautiful home with the most exquisite silk paintings on the walls, as well as in her beautiful studio. I was offered delicious tea. I must admit I have never ever seen anything as beautiful, and delicate as her paintings. A true artist, and a wonderful person too. The class was very well organised with lots of beautiful patterns to choose from. Tatiana explained the whole process well which made the whole experience much easier and more enjoyable. We had lunch break, and then continued with the painting. I like when an artist helps me a bit if I struggle with something new, and Tatiana selfishly helped me finish my scarf. I couldn't believe how beautiful it turned out. It's my first attempt, can't wait to go back and develop more silk painting skills. Thank you Tatiana, thank you ClassBento!

Set in a beautiful and peaceful location, Tatiana clearly explained what we needed to do and helped guide us through the entire process. Looking at her work in the room really gave you an insight into all the possibilities of what you can do. She has dozens of templates you can choose from and the colour options seem endless. We had a lovely light lunch with Tatiana. Overall I would highly recommend this class. A great day in the Dandenongs

Tatiana was friendly, knowledgeable and made the experience a very enjoyable one. All the materials were provided and the environment was calming and conducive to being creative. The class was good value with a morning tea and healthy lunch with bubbly. So very welcome. I would highly recommend this creative class and I have a beautiful scarf to remember it by.

Silk painting was so soothing to the soul, i loved the whole process from start to finish; it made me very happy and calm. The nature of silk painting being less demanding and unique means you can not go wrong. Tatiana has created many design templates using an interesting fibonacci sequence theory. Her knowledge of mathematics and her passion for art really comes through in her class. Thankyou for the amazing experience Tatiana.

Regardless of skill or artistic level, you will enjoy this class. Silk painting is a unique form of art that was taught so incredibly well by Tatiana in this workshop. This workshop felt meditative while watching the paintbrush touch the silk, followed by the colourful paint gradually spread out between the lines created. Did I also mention the beautiful freshly made teacake for morning tea and the sumptuous lunch including a cheese board? But my favourite part of the day was listening to the calming music while we painted in a beautiful light filled room that looked out out the large surrounding leafy trees.

She taught us about the Batik painting techniques and answered all our questions. We got to choose the colours we wanted to use, and whether to use one of the many example templates for the scarf or make our own design. She also prepared a nice cake, tea and lunch for us. Would definitely recommend this class!

My teacher, Tatiana was warm and welcoming with a wealth of knowledge in which she conveyed to me. Tatiana's studio is so beautifully decorated with her masterpieces, such a calming place surrounded by the landscape of the Dandenong's. I would highly recommend this class to anyone. I definitely will be back.
