What you'll do

In this workshop, you'll learn how to design and create custom stackable pieces using non-toxic acrylic resin, which you'll assemble into your very own unique candle holder. Stack, rearrange, and watch your creation evolve as you light your candle – it's like building blocks for adults... and a fun and cute addition to your home decor!

In this class, you’ll discover how easy it is to design with non-toxic acrylic resin and transform simple materials into beautiful pieces to adorn your living space. Making these fun shapes is totally addictive!

We'll work with Jesmonite, a safe eco-resin for adults and children, even if you're pregnant. Your safety is our top priority. And the beauty of this resin is that it sets in around 40 minutes so you can demould your pieces in class and take them home with you.

This beginner-friendly class will guide you through the process step by step.
You'll be surprised at how quickly you pick up the techniques and unleash your creativity.
You'll have the chance to make up to 9 individual pieces.
These pieces will come together to form your very own stackable candle holder.

This is an EASY process to master, so you'll get comfortable with the technique quickly. You’ll manage to make up to nine pieces to assemble and rearrange into a stackable candle holder, providing a sense of achievement as you watch your creations come to life.

By the end of the workshop, all the pieces will be cured, ready for you to assemble your candle holder building blocks in whatever arrangement you find pleasing. You will have a unique candle holder you can proudly display in your home.

What to bring

Wear old clothes or an overshirt to protect your clothes from splashes.
If you need glasses for close-up work, please bring them along.
We recommend tying your hair back so it doesn't get into the resin.

Hi! I'm Myléne Hillam, resin expert, freelance designer for the craft industry and author of two jewellery making books.

My passion for resin can be traced back to my first year in high school and the manual arts department where I got to play - and fall in love - with plastics as an art medium. Sadly, resin wasn't part of the curriculum until the next year and I had to wait until 15 years ago when the opportunity to work with resin crossed my path again so I jumped right in, and I've been learning and creating with resin ever since.

Along the way, I've worked with major resin manufacturers in the US to produce their product videos, create educational materials for their clients and design numerous resin projects for their trade show booths. One of the fun things my expertise with resin has allowed me to do is to travel internationally to demonstrate resin products at trade shows.

My mission is to share what I know about resin with you. I deliver a quality and fun learning experience for beginners who want to have a go at working with resin. You'll be amazed at what you can achieve with the right guidance.
